Mattie Watson

Mattie just completed her sophomore year at George Washington University, where she is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. Before becoming a NIST SURF student, she researched the kinematics of sea lion flippers, fabricating waveguides and grating couplers, and additive manufacturing of semiconductor materials. Mattie loves the television show “Parks and Recreation,” and it’s her dream to someday get waffles with Amy Poehler.
