Ben Neely

Ben Neely has been with the Marine Biochemical Sciences group at NIST Charleston in the Hollings Marine Laboratory in Charleston, South Carolina,  for 2.5 years. He has been using mass spectrometry-based proteomics for the last decade to discover candidate biomarkers related to disease and cancer progression in humans and marine mammals. In addition to helping develop new reference materials and standardized methods, Ben spends his time delving into emerging proteomic techniques such as data-independent acquisition and metaproteomics.

Scott Ledgerwood

Scott Ledgerwood's work in the Public Safety Communication Research (PSCR) Division at NIST is focused on improved usability, user interface testing, and mobile device security for first responders. His team is developing new test methodologies leveraging virtual and augmented reality to enable improved research, testing and development of first-responder technologies. Prior to joining NIST in 2015, Scott worked at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where he managed security teams responsible for IT security risk assessments and FISMA compliance. Scott holds a bachelor's degree in applied information technology from George Mason University and a master's in business administration from Bellevue University.
