Abstract

Utility assessments were performed for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)Advanced Soldier Sensor Information Systems and Technology (ASSIST) program. This paper describes the field-based, formative methods used to assess utility for prototypical software designed to provide value to mission reporting for infantry and related intelligence operations. While results from these evaluations are not presented here, design considerations, evaluation procedures and metrics, as well as lessons learned are described.
