Surge Protection in Low-Voltage AC Power Circuits--An anthology Part 1 -- Annotated Bibliography

Author(s)

Abstract
This multi-part anthology is offered to promote better understanding through historical perspective and easy access to relevant papers on the fundamental principles and application of surge-protective devices. The first part, Annotated Bibliography provides a list of papers, standards, and textbooks written by many contributors to the development of surge protection technology. The main topics of each listed document are summarized in a few one-line descriptors. The documents are arranged in several categories, including origins and propagation of surges, detection and measurement methods, laboratory investigations and simulations, general tutorials, and mitigation techniques. Subsequent parts of this anthology will be compiled to include reprints of the Martzloff papers cited in this Bibliography and, whenever made available, other seminal papers from the community of surge protection researchers.
