Abstract

Researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Building and Fire Research Laboratory are working with the U.S. Fire Administration; the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms; and the U.S. Department of Justice to provide a more scientific basis for the investigation of fire. This article provides an overview of current research and where it may lead the fire investigation field.
