Abstract

This paper describes a service-oriented sensor data interoperability architecture for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1451 smart transducers. A sensor data interoperability prototype system based on the proposed architecture is presented. A case study of reading sensor data is provided to illustrate sensor data interoperability between the IEEE 1451 smart transducers and Open Geospatial Consortium - Sensor Web Enablement (OGC-SWE) Web services through the Smart Transducer Web Services (STWS).
