Radiated Power Measurements in Reverberation Chambers

Abstract

The electromagnetic reverberation chamber is widely used as a test facility to generate complex fields for interference and compatibility measurements. The chamber is also effective as a method to quantify the total radiated power from an emitter regardless of radiation pattern. This feature will prove useful for characterization of wireless devices and other transmitters, especially as the level of front-end integration increases. We examine techniques for measuring radiated emissions using power received from an antenna in the chamber, and demonstrate correlation to free-field measurements.
