Abstract

The Biometric Consortium 2001 Conference examines rapid advances in biometric technologies and applications and explores new developments in the areas of metrology, assurance, and standards. The Conference proceedings include presentations in a series of topics that address user requirements, technological issues and challenges looming ahead, government and commercial implementations and initiatives, biometric business models, updates on the latest activities in measurements and standards, testing, interoperability and data interchange, biometrics security and assurance, and novel applications of biometrics (e.g., protection of digital content in Health Care and Digital Rights Management, Point of Sale, and large-scale enterprise network authentication environments). Seminars included in the Proceedings address integration of biometrics, the Common Criteria and the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).
