Abstract

Plans, organizes, and manages the placement of technical experts from NIST, or selected by NIST, in key U.S. embassies and missions to provide technical advice and support to commercial and economic staffs in the identification and resolution of trade issues involving technical barriers;1. Organizes and coordinates training in metrology, conformance testing, and standards writing for representatives from important trading partners;2. Works cooperatively with other parts of Technology Services and NIST, the Departments of State and Commerce, the U.S. Special Trade Representative's Office (USTR), other Federal agencies, standards development organizations, and private sector companies in carrying out assigned responsibilities.NIST Standards in Trade ProgramStandards in Trade/SABIT Workshops 1996-1997 ScheduleNIST's International Network of Experts
