Abstract

The Optical Technology Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) developed a reference instrument for measuring the surface color of non-fluorescent samples at the standard measuring geometries of 0 /45 , ~0 /d, and 8 /d with high accuracy. In addition, this instrument is capable of measuring the full Bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) of colored samples.
