Abstract

This paper describes the National Advanced Manufacturing Testbed (NAMT) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The NAMT is a distributed testbed enabling collaborative research between scientists and engineers at NIST, remote industry locations, and government and university laboratories. The collaborative R&D environment of the NAMT operates as a collaboratory, and this paper reviews the systems and technologies that enable the operation of the NAMT collaboratory and its research application areas, especially those associated with the delivery of NIST measurement services.
