Abstract

The National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) and the American Society of Heating Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) are working to cooperatively develop a national Facility Smart Grid Information Model standard. This standard will be broadly applicable for homes, commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. It will enable better management of electrical loads and local generation sources in collaboration with a smart utility grid.
