Abstract
A Solution Kinetics Database, jointly created byNIST and the Notre Dame Radiation Laboratory, hasbeen made available on the Internet in a format similarto that utilized by the popular NIST KineticsDatabase, which covers gas-phase reactions. TheSolution Kinetics Database, which can be found at
http://kinetics.nist.gov/solution, contains over 23 000rate constants, primarily for free radical reactions.More than 11 000 unique species in more than150 solvents or mixtures of solvents are included. Thedata have been abstracted from nearly 4000 literaturesources. This database includes reactions of manycompounds of industrial and biochemical interest, suchas antioxidants, vitamins, dyes, photosensitizers, radiosensitizers, radioprotectors, amino acids, andenzymes; and provides kinetic information on manyunstable species of physiological and atmosphericimportance. The database is linked to the NISTChemistry WebBook wherever possible, makingadditional chemical and physical property data on thechemical species available at the click of a mouse.
