Abstract

This Hugh M. Huffman Memorial Award Lecture illustrates the power of phenomenological and statistical thermodynamics and the unique role of thermochemical data by a variety of studies in very diverse scientific and industrial fields ranging from conformational analysis to optimizationof high-tehc space and mass-sclae chemical technolgies and from data communications to data expert systems for chemical process design.
