Abstract
The Materials Science &Technology 2008 Conference & Exhibition took place in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from October 5-9. The MS&T 2008 Conference was a great success, with a total more than 1000 papers presented in both oral and poster sessions. This popular scientific meeting included 60 technical symposia organized into eight themes, a number of memorable plenary speeches, keynote speeches, a large-scale exhibit, and special activities for young scientists. Award ceremonies took place at each member society banquet during the week. Various member services, including an employment center and activities for spouses of attendees, were also available. This report summarizes the events that took place during that week.Citation
