Laboratory Experiments for Fundamental Physics in Space

Abstract
Laboratory Experiments refers generally to active spaceborne experiments as opposed to the equally important passive observation in space of signals coming from more distant sources. My purpose in this presentation is to highlight a number of opportunities for addressing fundamental physics questions through such experiments. I do this from the perspective of an Atomic, Molecular and Optical (AMO) physicist and metrologist. Of particular importance in this context is that many of today s most exciting opportunities result from the recent development of tools that were mere dreams only five or ten years ago.
