Abstract

The biennial meeting of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, the ILAC 2000 Technical Conference, in Washington, DC, is co-hosted by NIST and various public and private sector organizations. The Proceedings include speakers' papers and overview comments of panelists. The topics of the Conference include the revised criteria for recognizing laboratory competence under ISO/IEC 17025; how laboratory accreditation serves users of testing laboratories; comparison of data generated by laboratories; interpretations of uncertainty and traceability; a tutorial on uncertainty; the effect of accreditation on international trade; and guidance for developing economies planning to establish accreditation systems.
