Abstract

This report documents the presentations and discussions that were made at the NIST workshop on fire performance of high-strength concrete. The workshop was held at NIST in Gaithersburg, MD on Feb 13-14, 1997 in collaboration with the Portland Cement Association, Mobil Technology Company, and Dupont Engineering. Participants were comprised of a select group of researchers, practitioners, and representatives of trade organizations from nine countries, including Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and U.S.A. This report also summarizes the specific research needs that were identified by the workshop's working groups to address the current knowledge gaps concerning the behavior of high-strength concrete at elevated temperatures.
