Abstract

Due to ultra-low power communication, BAN is most likely a victim system. Interference from other BANs or other coexisting wireless communication systems may be significant. Power control is usually inefficient and may even cause more interference in an environment with a high interference level. To relieve impacts of high level interference, interference mitigation is chosen to not only preserve link quality but also to allow more active users simultaneously. This paper proposes interference mitigation schemes for link adaption, such as adaptive modulation as adaptive data rate and duty cycle, to mitigate the interference level. Interference Mitigation Factor (IMF) is introduced to quantify the effectiveness of the mitigation schemes.
