Abstract

Hylleraas-configuration-interaction (Hy-CI) method variational calculations are reported for the singlet S ground state of neutral beryllium. The best nonrelativistic energy obtained was -14.6673 5641 hartree, which is estimated to be accurate to within a tenth of a microhartree. 1
