Abstract

This document, Forensic Sciences: Status and Needs, is the product of a two-day meeting sponsored by OLES/NIJ/NIST on March 5-6, 1997. This meeting brought together 44 scientists and administrators with the common goal of helping the forensic science professions. The purpose of the workshop was to determine the current status and needs of forensic laboratories on training; technology transfer; methods of research, development, testing, and evaluation; and analytical services.
