The Expanding NIST Atomic Spectra Database

Published

Author(s)

Wolfgang L. Wiese

Abstract

The NIST Atomic Spectra Database is reviewed, and the additions planned for the near-term and longer range future are discussed. Two examples are presented, illustrating the often still unsatisfactory state of transition probability data, which show the need for updates of the database, when significant amounts of improved data become available.
