Abstract
The 1998 CODATA recommended values of the fundamental physical constants have been derived by P.J. Mohr and B.N. Taylor of the NIST Physics Laboratory under the auspices of the CODATA (Committee on Data on Science and Technology) Task Group on Fundamental Constants. When approved by the Task Group, in July 1999, they will replace the 1986 set of recommended values. The new 1998 values will replace the 1986 values which are currently on the Web site of the Fundamental Constants Data Center of the NIST Physics Laboratory.
