Abstract

The IPC Data Transfer Solutions (DTS) committee has created the Electronic Interconnection Standards for E-Commerce (the IPC-2500 series) to support the industry need for standard communication protocols within an enterprise as well as between trading partners. This paper provides a brief history of the committee activities, and explanation of the methodology behind the standards effort, and a status report on the standards currently included in the series. The paper concludes with a look at the future work plans of the committee.
