Abstract

The proceedings of the Display Forum '97 Workshop was held at the Gaithersburg, MD, Hilton on October 20, 1997. The Workshop was jointly hosted by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and the Information Technology Laboratory (ITL), NIST. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together experts from industry, government, and universities to exchange information, and to chart a course for the future of displays and display standards. Parallel sessions covered display technologies/interfaces and flat panel display measurement. The Proceedings inlcude the papers presented at the Workshop, a summary of the talks, and notes from the afternoon discussion period in which future directions and the need for future actions were discussed.
