Abstract

A summary is given of the current work of Technical Committee (TC) 201 on Surface Chemical Analysis (SCA) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This ISO/TC201 now consists of eight subcommittees (SC1 on Terminology, SC2 on General Procedures, SC3 on Data Management and Treatment, SC4 on Depth Profiling, SC5 on Auger Electron Spectroscopy, SC6 on Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry, SC7 on X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, and SC8 on Glow Discharge Spectroscopy) and a total of fifteen working groups. ISO/TC201 has completed work on one international standard (ISO 14976, SCA-Data Transfer Format), and eleven planned international standards are under development. Preliminary work on additional planned standards is described.
