Abstract
The design and construction of an inductive voltage divider (IVD) for use in impedance bridge applications in the 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range is described. A two-stage, single-decade IVD is described, as well as a method to compensate it for errors due to leakage admittances of its windlings. A new bridge to self-calibrate the IVD is also described. The bridge is based on the straddling method and has been designed to characterize IVDs over the 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. Preliminary measurement results of the new IVD indicate that it exhibits in-phase and quadrature errors of less than 16 parts in 10-8 at 1 kHz, and less than 11 part in 10-6 at 20 kHz.Citation
