Abstract

The 93rd Annual Meeting of the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) was held in Burlington, Vermont, July 13 - 17, 2008. The theme of the conference was "Seeking Balance." The NCWM develops and recommends laws and regulations, technical codes for weighing and measuring devices used in commerce, test methods, enforcement procedures, and administrative guidelines for adoption by regulatory agencies in the interest of promoting uniformity of requirements and methods in state and lcoal jurisdictions. The annual meeting brings together government officials and representatives of business, industry, trade associations, and consumer organizations for the purpose of hearing and discussing subjects that relate to the field of weights and measures technology.
