Abstract

Procedures for calibrating and characterizing optical radiometers, including the determination of characteristics peculiar to underwater sensors, are presented in this chapter. The characterizations are considered essential to verify the compliance with specifications of those radiometers used to acquire field data for satellite ocean color validation.
