Abstract

Coherent, broadband fiber lasers produce pulse trains with <1 femtosecond relative timing uncertainty and <1 mHz relative frequency uncertainty. These sources can advance many applications including optical frequency metrology, ranging LIDAR, and broadband molecular spectroscopy.
