Abstract
The spectrum of iridium was photographed in the 300 2040 region on a 3-m and on a 10.7-m normal incidence spectrograph. The sources used were a triggered spark and a sliding spark. The analysis of the 5d5 5d46p and the 5d46s 5d46p transition arrays of Ir V was carried out for the first time. On the basis of 1353 lines in the region 500 2100 , 91 out of 99 levels of the 5d5 + 5d46s even parity system and 165 out of 180 levels of the 5d46p odd parity system were established. Hartree-Fock calculations with relativistic corrections (HFR) and least-squares-fitted (LSF) parametric calculations were carried out to interpret the spectrum.
