Abstract

The fourth annual Rescue Robot Competition took place at the IJCAI/AAAI 2003 Conference in Acapulco, Mexico. The competition encourages participants to contribute to the field of urban search and rescue (USAR) robotics and provides the competitors with a sense of what a real USAR situation involves. The following text describes the competition's objectives, the arenas, the scoring metric, and this year's participating teams.
