Identity Management Systems Research & Development

Identity management is a relatively new discipline with many unanswered questions. Much research is needed to advance the state of the art to the point where identity management systems can be implemented in a secure, cost effective and interoperable manner. The Identity Management Systems Research and Development project area leverages NIST expertise gained through activities such as the Personal Identity Verification program.

This project's activities will significantly advance the identity management community's understanding of fundamental issues, and the ability to effectively implement and use identity management systems.
