Xinyun (Cindy) Gong (Fed)

Xinyun (Cindy) Gong is an Information Specialist and system administrator in the Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Each year several thousand guest scientists support NIST’s mission by collaborating with NIST scientists or conducting direct research on NIST’s behalf.

Cindy administers the NIST Associates Information System (NAIS), which oversees registering guest researchers. She developed the NAIS system as a NIST contractor from 2005 through 2011.  Her responsibilities include ensuring the NIST Associate Agreements are in order and the security forms for guest researchers have been filed.

Cindy also provides information technology support to TPO and is the administrative contact for IPManager.

Before joining NIST as a federal employee, Cindy had extensive private-sector experience in database programming, web development, and software engineering. 

Cindy’s academic credentials include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Changchun University and an M.S. in Computer Information Systems from Southeastern University.
