Sharon L. Rinehart (Fed)

Sharon L. Rinehart is the administrative officer of the Fire Research Division (FRD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Rinehart started her Federal service in 1983 at NIST as a clerk typist in the Employment Development Group of the Personnel Division. In 1984, Ms. Rinehart moved to the Office of the Comptrollers and, in 1985, advanced to an accounting technician.  In 1985, Ms. Rinehart accepted the group secretary position  in the Building Environment Division of the Center for Building Technology.  Ms. Rinehart received her Associates in Arts degree in 1986 in Business Administration from Frederick Community College.

During her career, Ms. Rinehart advanced into the administrative support field through experience and became an administrative assistant in 1996.  In 1997, Ms. Rinehart was promoted to an administrative officer for both the Structures Division and the Fire Science Division. Currently, Ms. Rinehart is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and financial policies and procedures for the Fire Research Division.
