Michelle C. Harman is the administrative assistant of the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Harman (formerly Dupee) attended Northland Baptist Bible College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Church Ministries and in Bible. During her college breaks, Ms. Harman worked for the Department of Defense, Manpower Analysis Agency, in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. After completing college in May 2004, Ms. Harman became an elementary school teacher at the Arlington Baptist School in Baltimore, Maryland. In June 2007, Ms. Harman again became an employee of the Federal Government and accepted her position as the secretary for the HVAC&R Equipment Performance Group and Mechanical Systems and Control Group in the Building Environment Division (BED) of the Building and Fire Research Laboratory (BFRL) at NIST.
In October 2009, Ms. Harman was selected for administrative assistant in the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP) Office of BFRL at NIST. In her current position, Ms. Harman prioritizes and performs various administrative tasks from the NEHRP Director, the Administrative Officer, and Research Engineers.
