Melissa Jordan is the administrative officer of the Systems Integration Division (SID) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Jordan began her career at NIST in 2001 as an Office Automation Assistant in the Neutron Condensed Matter Science Group in the NIST Center for Neutron Research. Here she was responsible for typical group administrative duties as well as management of the publication database, WERB process, and the Division's Annual Report.
In 2003, Ms. Jordan was selected as the Group Secretary to two groups, the CMOS and Novel Devices Group and the Electronic Information Group located in the Semiconductor Electronics Division within the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Laboratory. Here she was able to be mentored by her Administrative Officer and learn the ins and outs of financial management. Ms. Jordan was temporarily promoted as the Division Administrative Officer; it was then that Ms. Jordan learned of her love for numbers and was inspired to be an Administrative Officer.
In 2008 Ms. Jordan was promoted to the Administrative Officer of the Manufacturing Metrology Division in the Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory. Due to the recent reorganization, Ms. Jordan is now the Administrative Officer for the Systems Integration Division as well as a member of their management team.
