Matthew Koc (Assoc)

Matthew Koc is a PREP Research Associate in the Quantum Sensors Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Physics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He currently conducts research on the design, testing, and fabrication of micromachined silicon platelet feedhorns, waveguide interface parts, and waveguide filter-banks for CMB experiments. He has fabricated parts for collaborations such as Simon’s Observatory and CCAT. Matthew received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley studying the optoelectronic and structural properties of semiconducting nanocrystals. Prior to working at NIST, he worked as a R&D Scientist at Biodesix (Louisville, CO, USA) and as a Product Engineer at Lam Research (Fremont, CA, USA), focusing on the hardware development and support of plasma etch tools.
