Jennifer Lauren Lee (Fed)
As the AV Productions Coordinator for the Office of Weights and Measures, Jenny serves as a video producer, director, script writer, and AV technical advisor. She edits technical trainings given by OWM to state inspectors and other OWM stakeholders; records and directs original videos, including lab demonstrations and educational videos for grade school students; provides photos, illustrations, and graphics; and manages two studio spaces.
Jenny has been a science writer and video editor for more than 20 years. Previous to working for OWM, she was a writer, editor, and video producer for the NIST Physical Measurement Laboratory (PML)’s Information Office, where she wrote news stories and produced short videos highlighting NIST PML’s work.
She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers (NASW) and served as president of the DC Science Writers Association (DCSWA) in 2014. Jenny is the winner of the 2016 American Institute of Physics Science Communication Award in the Broadcast and New Media category for her video “How to Build Your NIST D.I.Y Watt Balance.”
