Emily Luce is a dedicated Human Resources Specialist in the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM). In this role she serves as the Orientation Program Manager within the Learning and Organizational Development Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Since joining NIST in 2015, she has significantly impacted employee engagement through her management of NIST-wide seminars, campus tours, and professional development workshops.
In her current capacity, Emily oversees all aspects of the NIST Orientation Program and additional opportunities designed to familiarize new and current staff with internal resources and training opportunities. Her responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders across the agency, hosting Retirement and Financial Trainings, scheduling Employee Assistance Program (EAP) In-Person and Virtual session, hosting new employee office hours and peer groups. Emily also acts as a mentor in the NIST Mentoring Program and serves as a super user for the Commerce Learning Center (CLC).
Prior to her current role, Emily served as a Human Resources Assistant at NIST, where she managed fee-for-service training catalogs and procurement for the division. Her diverse administrative background also includes tenure as an Office Manager for the Bio-molecular Measurement Division and as an Administrative Assistant and Property Custodian for both the NIST Director’s Office (PCO) and the Engineering Laboratory. Throughout these roles, she conducted travel coordination, property inventory management, and high-level administrative support.
