Courtney Grate is an Interagency and iEdison Specialist in the Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). She handles issues related to the Bayh-Dole regulations of federally-funded inventions and convenes the interagency working group for Bayh-Dole.
Ms. Grate also monitors the functionality and day-to-day administration of iEdison, the central platform for reporting inventions and patents resulting from federally funded research. She is a liaison to iEdison’s agency and extramural users.
Before joining TPO, Courtney was the Senior Intellectual Property Manager at NUtech Ventures, the technology transfer office for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Kearney. She was also a patent extern at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Courtney holds a J.D. and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is also registered to practice before the USPTO.
