As Director of Legislative Affairs for NIST, Ms. Johnson will coordinate NIST’s activities regarding Congress.
She previously served as a staff director on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee Research and Technology Subcommittee.
She played an instrumental role in shaping legislation, organizing, and leading congressional hearings and fostering bipartisan collaboration on science policy that enhances public research universities’ ability to advance American science leadership on a global stage.
During her time on the committee she focused her strategic engagement primarily on the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NIST, STEM education, research security, and the CHIPS program at the Department of Commerce.
