Abstract

We are developing arrays of 150~GHz transition edge sensor (TES) polarimeters for the South Pole Telescope polarimeter (SPTpol). Proto-type devices use an aluminum manganese (Al-Mn) alloy TES with a normal resistance $R_n$ suited to frequency domain multiplexing (fMUX) used in SPTpol. We present the test pixel design and show measurements using fMUX readout. The devices exhibit noise performance consistent with expectations when operated high in the transition. Below 0.8$R_n$, the detectors become unstable, which is predicted using a compound TES model.
