Abstract
For the past two years, the Internet Journal of Chemistry has published, exclusively on the web, peer-reviewed articles in all areas of chemistry. The publication model employed by the journal is unique in chemistry. Emphasizing the significant publication advantages afforded by the electronic medium, the journal publishes enhanced articles in a user-customizable format. This article describes how the journal came into existence, examining how many of the publication choices were made, and ends with a brief look at the journal's current status.
