This article for ASTM's Standardization News answers a series of questions for an Education Roundtable. Based on the importance of standards for everyday life and the economy, it discusses the need for several types of training in standards for present and future professionals in the standards field, as well as educational programs for the general public and for leaders fo government and industry.
