Polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) is an interesting phenomenon. Unfortunately, interesting usually means complicated, and that is definitely the case with PMD. These complications can be troublesome when attempting to measure PMD. This presentation has two parts, the first introduces the various measurement methods, and the second describes the "best practices" for each method in order to get correct results.
