Abstract
In this paper a method to validate proposed calibration procedures for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) is presented. Conceptually, the validation procedure is based on a computer generated population of CMMs assumed to include any real CMM that a calibration service provider might encounter in actual practice. Three different uncertainty statements will be constructed using B89.4.1 test procedures and examined using this novel method of validation based on computer simulation.Proceedings Title
