Abstract
Uncertainty analysis with intervals is an alternative to stochastic optimization for machining optimization problems with uncertainties. This paper presents a study of the coupling interval analysis and evolutionary algorithms for solving optimization problems in high-speed machining. For investigation purposes, the resulting algorithm was first applied to a conventional turning problem and compared to a linear programming algorithms.
