Abstract
Following tradition, the 2002 Materials Research Society (MRS) annual meeting again took place from in Boston Copely Plaza from December 1 to 6 (in the spacious Hynes Convention Center). Attending the Boston MRS Fall meeting, for many attendees, has also become a tradition in itself. The Copely Plaza where most attendees stayed, is a convenient location that gives the attendees easy access to the old charm and culture of Boston, and various educational institutes. the plaza also offers many superb specialty shops and restaurants. The meeting was very well attended (about 4000 attendees representing industrial, academic, and government sectors, many of them from abroad).
