Abstract

A system for in situ temperature measurements in ultrahigh vacuum is described. The system is based on a W-Re thermocouple and has a temperature range from -200°C to 2000°C. Another benefit of the system is that it allows for temperature measurements while the sample is held at high voltage for heating via electron-beam bombardment.
